Show Within the Show raises awareness and funds for the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation
If you like to attend car shows with a bit of variety, set your destination this summer for Carlisle, PA! The Carlisle GM Nationals is hosting over 1,000 show cars and trucks during the June 25-26 event at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, and there is also a dedicated Corvette Show happening to support the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation.
Guests at the Carlisle GM Nationals will be able to see tons of Camaros, Novas, S-10s, Buicks, Pontiacs, and many other vintage and classic vehicles. Corvettes For Chip is a ‘show within the show’ and the charity fundraiser offers raffles, 50/50 drawings, baked goods for sale, as well as the opportunity to see some of the nicest Corvettes in the area! Fun Field registration offers full access to the Carlisle GM Nationals for two (car owner and guest), an opportunity for your car to be judged, and all will receive a special CMAF pin and more.
Registrants for the Corvettes for Chip Fun Field will also receive a guided tour of the Miller Family garage which contains some of the family’s rare and unique Corvettes and other collector cars too. Corvette registrants can claim their “golden tickets” for the tour experience at the CMAF tent when you check in to pick up your goody bag.
The Carlisle GM Nationals is a great opportunity to celebrate all vehicles made by GM and the show is open to anyone with a General Motors vehicle. Carlisle is hosting several special displays which include the “40 Years of the 3rd Gens”, “60 Years of the Nova/Chevy II”, “40 Years of the S-10” plus the annual Solid Lifter Showroom in Building Y.
Carlisle Events co-founder Chip Miller was diagnosed with the little-known disease called Amyloidosis in December 2003 and ultimately passed away on March 25, 2004. Amyloidosis is a rare disease that develops when amyloid proteins deposit and accumulate in the body’s organs and tissue. Annually, 3,000 cases are diagnosed, but the disease is still rare enough that usually by the time it’s detected, it’s too late. This was the case for Chip and why the CMAF hosts events like Corvettes for Chip. These events not only raise money for those affected by the disease but to raise awareness for it too so that others don’t lose their loved ones. Learn more at ChipMiller.org.
