When it comes to cleaning cars, something that gets overlooked quite often are the windows—particularly the inside part. Months of driving with the windows up have contributed to the slow buildup of gunk that can go unnoticed. The windshield is the worst offender, dealing with defrost and morning breath without reprieve. But as your wrist will attest, cleaning that thing with a normal cloth is a real pain.
So a cleaning evolution came to be: the inShield wiper. A simple As Seen On TV type of schtick. But wait, this thing actually works.
The tool comprises a removable microfiber pad, a plastic base with Velcro, a piece of soft foam underneath, and two stretchy straps for your hand. It’s simple to use—just slide your hand under the straps and you’re almost ready to get going. For windshields, it’s best to strap onto the top of your hand to reduce contorting your wrist to arthritic levels. For other windows and for screens, strapping it to your palm works just as well.
Then just spritz some water or your favorite glass cleaner onto the pad and wipe away. It’s soft and picked up all but the heaviest gunk without us needing to scrub hard. With a little elbow grease, the microfiber wiped up everything. The rectangular design is also handy, allowing us to clean the corners of the windshield—places a loose cloth can rarely reach.
It’s compatible for electronic screens, stainless steel, and just about anything that shows fingerprints. Once you’re finished, the microfiber pad is totally removable and can be tossed in the washing machine.
So to decrease time and awkwardness when cleaning the inside of your windshield, pick up an inShield wiper. It’ll increase visibility more than you’d expect—especially at night. And hey, your wrist will thank you!
